Prayer to the Blessed Virgin

Oh, most beautiful flower of Mt Carmel, Fruitful Vine, Splendour of Heaven, blessed Mother of the Son of God, Immaculate Virgin: assist me in my necessity. O star of the sea, help me and show me, here you are my Mother. Oh, Holy Mary, Mother of God, Queen of Heaven and Earth: I humbly beseech you from the bottom of my heart to succour me in this necessity (state the request). There are none that can withstand your power. O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee. Holy Mother, I place this cause in your hands.

Memorare (Prayer of St Bernard)

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help or sought your intercession, was left unaided. Inspired with this confidence, I fly unto you. O Virgin of Virgins, my mother, to you I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petition, but in your mercy, hear and answer me. Amen.

Hail, holy Queen, Mother of Mercy; hail our life, our sweetness, and our hope! To you we cry, poor banished children of Eve; to you we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this vale of tears. Turn then, most gracious advocate, your eyes of mercy towards us, and after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of your womb Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.
